Joann Lam

Joann has been accepted in the USGS Cooperative Summer Fellowship Program for Summer 2022, where she will work with Craig Snyder of the USGS Eastern Ecological Science Center to assess fish community responses to climate change. Congratulations to Joann!

Daisy Lewis

After graduating from Washington University, Daisy worked as a lab tech at several universities, gaining expertise and refining her scientific interests. In Fall 2025, she will begin a PhD in Integrative Biology at our sister campus, UC Berkeley, in the lab of Chris Martin.

Carly Lo

In Fall 2022, Carly will start a PhD at Texas A&M. She plans to study jellyfish ecology and genomics with Maria Pia Miglietta.  Congratulations, Carly!

Gisselle Lockley

Sierra Madsen Sain

Sierra returned across the causeway to CSU Sacramento but plans to continue collaborating with Emily Meineke as she wraps up her senior year. Visitors to her poster came away with hair clips adorned with plant sprigs.

Lorenzo McCleese

After EEWL, Lorenzo returned to Seattle for his junior year at UW. In his copious free time, he will continue to conduct remote research with the Provost lab.

Trina Miller

In summer 2022, Trina had a fellowship with the L.A. River Watershed Monitoring Program to assist in analyzing the data used to make policy decisions. Trina recently received first place honors in the CSU-wide undergraduate research competition for her work in documenting anthropogenic debris in the rocky intertidal. Trina now works as the Education Coordinator for Algalita, a Long Beach based NGO that works to educate the public about plastic pollution.

Robert Montoya

Robert entered the PhD program in MCB (molecular and cellular biology) at Dartmouth, with a focus on microbiology, in Fall 2022, and subsequently joined the O'Toole lab. He noted, "During my interviews they were especially excited about my experience with the  EERREC program. I'm so thankful for everything I learned last summer and I couldn't have done it without everybody!"
