Trina Miller

In summer 2022, Trina had a fellowship with the L.A. River Watershed Monitoring Program to assist in analyzing the data used to make policy decisions. Trina recently received first place honors in the CSU-wide undergraduate research competition for her work in documenting anthropogenic debris in the rocky intertidal. Trina now works as the Education Coordinator for Algalita, a Long Beach based NGO that works to educate the public about plastic pollution.

Robert Montoya

Robert entered the PhD program in MCB (molecular and cellular biology) at Dartmouth, with a focus on microbiology, in Fall 2022, and subsequently joined the O'Toole lab. He noted, "During my interviews they were especially excited about my experience with the  EERREC program. I'm so thankful for everything I learned last summer and I couldn't have done it without everybody!"

Molly Clemons

Molly graduated from Sonoma State University in May 2023. After a fellowship with the California Climate Action Corps at St. Mary's College in Moraga to teach regenerative agriculture techniques, she began a position as an ecosteward conservation technician with the Contra Costa Resource Conservation District.

Joann Lam

Joann has been accepted in the USGS Cooperative Summer Fellowship Program for Summer 2022, where she will work with Craig Snyder of the USGS Eastern Ecological Science Center to assess fish community responses to climate change. Congratulations to Joann!

Catherine O'Reilly

In summer 2022, Catherine worked with the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC), Office of Sustainability to monitor and maintain some of our native prairie habitats, and will also be working with an urban ecology lab at UIC to monitor pollinator activity under power lines in the Chicago metro region. After graduation in May 2023, Catherine worked at the Office of Planning, Sustainability, and Project Management at UIC to monitor and maintain some of the native prairie habitats on campus. In September 2023, they began working at the Energy Resources Center at UIC as a Partner Coordinator for the Sustainable Landscapes team, which (among other things) manages a voluntary conservation agreement that encourages land owners and managers to adopt measures to create net conservation benefits for the monarch butterfly.

Carly Lo

In Fall 2022, Carly will start a PhD at Texas A&M. She plans to study jellyfish ecology and genomics with Maria Pia Miglietta.  Congratulations, Carly!
