The Mammalian Ecology and Conservation unit led by Ben Sacks hosted Jordyn for her study of coyote genetics across the landscape of Yosemite National Park. For her science communication project, she wrote and illustrated a short children's book about coyote landscape genetics (yes, really!).

Sebastién plans to conduct research at Sonoma State University and is considering options for further study.

Sierra returned across the causeway to CSU Sacramento but plans to continue collaborating with Emily Meineke as she wraps up her senior year. Visitors to her poster came away with hair clips adorned with plant sprigs.

Karen continues in the tradition of superb students from CSU Fullerton who conduct summer research with UC Davis labs. She also was gifted with a plant sprout by Sierra Madsen Sain. Karen is assessing her next steps as part of her senior year.

Yulia returned to UPR Cayey for her senior year, and is considering her next steps. She included Spanish versions of both her science communication project and her research poster (click on her name for a hotlink to the poster).

Gisselle has been accepted to our sister campus, UC San Diego, to complete her undergraduate degree. Congrats, Gisselle!

Kellas has returned to Hiram College and now is considering next steps beyond EEWL research. Watch this space for an update about their contributions!

In addition to a full summer of EEWL research, Lars presented a poster at the International Congress on the Biology of Fish, where he found many many kindred souls. He has returned to northern Michigan and now is making plans for advanced study.

Brandon, who hails from the eastern Sierra, came to the EEWL REU as a transfer from Santa Barbara City College. He collected and pressed the specimen of Castilleja miniata as part of his summer research. The plant sprouting from his collar was gifted by cohort member Sierra Madsen Sain to all who listened to her poster presentation. Brandon will complete his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. GrrrrrRAH!
